This design was guided by the input provided by the local community through consultation as well as an evaluation of the existing facilities in the area.

The key drivers for the design which were identified from the community input are:

  • Increasing opportunities for recreation and play
  • Improving park amenities, including seating, picnicking areas, and pathways

Public parks and reserves play a valuable role in our communities, providing places to play, gather and connect with nature.

The City of Mandurah is planning a masterplan for the reserve on Wilderness Dr (referred to as Wilderness Reserve), Dawesville.

Our community has told us that this park needs a refresh to better support our growing community and in past years have provided some great suggestions for the space.

The City is now looking to gain feedback on whether these suggestions still reflect the community’s aspirations for the reserve and gather new ideas.

Do you or your family use this park? We’d like your input into the activities, facilities, play equipment and natural environment enhancement you would like to see to make Wilderness Reserve a vibrant and welcoming place to catch up and explore the local environment.

As well as considering your feedback, the plan will:

  • Review playground and recreation spaces
  • Review public amenities including BBQ's, shelters, and seating
  • Review paths and path connections
  • Enhance environmental aspects, particularly the remaining Tuart population and local biodiversity.

To see the previous areas of opportunity the community identified view the Previous Playground Consultation Summary.

This initial engagement stage involves the gathering of ideas. Once completed, the team will develop a concept plan which reflects the community requests within the designated budget. View the key dates for more information.
