Let's work together to deliver the community plan and achieve Mandurah's vision

Setting the Vision for Mandurah

Back in 2018, thousands of people from our community got together to shape Mandurah's vision for the future.

This vision gives us a real sense of purpose and inspires us every single day, guiding us towards where we want to be in 20 years and beyond.

When we asked you what matters most, the local economy, our environment, social connections, and health were right at the top of your list.

Delivering the Plan

Since the plan was adopted in early 2020, we’ve worked with our community and partners to create the momentum to achieve Mandurah’s vision.

The City’s commitment to delivering the Plan is outlined within the Corporate Business Plan which includes specific detailed actions to be undertaken by the City to achieve the community outcomes set out in the Strategic Community Plan. The City’s Current Corporate Business Plan 2023-2027 will be updated to reflect any changes as a result of the revised Strategic Community Plan 2024-2044.

The Mandurah Matters Big Check-in (every 4 years).

In July 2023, three years since adoption of the plan, we conducted a major review with an aim to understanding if we needed to make any changes or take any extra steps to make Mandurah’s vision a reality. We recognised that our community is growing and evolving, and the roadmap should too. We conducted this review, along with our community in two stages over a period of six months from August 2023 to January 2024.

Initially, we received over 4,500 pieces of community feedback though a survey, kid's competition, community pop-up events with Elected Members, and a supporting marketing campaign, the "Big Check-in". The City gained a comprehensive understanding of the key themes, aspirations and priorities of our community.

From this feedback, a randomly selected group of community members and a selected group of industry experts joined workshops to help articulate Strategic Goals, Outcomes and Measures of success to inform the Strategic Community Plan 2024-2044. A full summary of the community consultation is available to the right of this page.

What now?

We have taken all the feedback we’ve received from the community during our “Big Check-In” and incorporated it into the new draft Strategic Community Plan 2024-2044. You’ll find this new draft on pages 5 to 9 in the Community Consultation Pack (link below).

Take a look and let us know what you think via the survey below before 4pm, 21 April 2024.

Once we have received feedback on this final draft, we will finalise the larger Strategic Community Plan 2024-2044 document, for the City and our community to use.
